On Al-Qaeda Web Sites, Joy Over U.S. Crisis, Support for McCain – washingtonpost.com
Al-Qaeda is watching the U.S. stock market’s downward slide with something akin to jubilation, with its leaders hailing the financial crisis as a vindication of its strategy of crippling America’s economy through endless, costly foreign wars against Islamist insurgents.
And at least some of its supporters think Sen. John McCain is the presidential candidate best suited to continue that trend.
This might be a more convincing article were it not for the fact that the day before, the Washington Post breathlessly reported that most of al-Qa’ida’s websites had recently been taken down, with only one major site remaining.
So, which is it WaPo? Have the sites been taken down? Or are there bunches of them still spewing al-Qa’ida propaganda?
